Amelia (Amy) A. Bayer, age 90, of Lake Geneva, WI, died February 17, 2017, at Holton Manor in Elkhorn, WI. She passed away quietly in her sleep. Amelia Anna (Kornesczuk) Bayer was born July 13, 1926 in Thorp, WI to Thomas and Mary (Grabowski) Kornesczuk. She was the third oldest of fourteen siblings. Amy moved to Chicago where she met and married her husband of 67 years, Kurt H. Bayer, on January 9th, 1946. They then moved to the farm in Lake Geneva in 1956. After dairy farming for over 30 years, Amy earned her teaching license and started working at Little Learners Daycare in Elkhorn, WI to share her love of children. Amy was a devout Catholic and a long-time supporter of the St. Joseph’s parish in Lyons, WI. Anyone who met Amy felt her love of family/friends/children through her music and laughter, and all who knew her will miss her. No birthday was complete without Amy playing “Happy Birthday” and “You Are My Sunshine” on her harmonica! Oke Dokey was her catch phrase and her philosophy on life. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five of her sisters, and four of her brothers. Holidays at the farm will always be remembered by her delicious meals, one of a kind chocolate chip cookies and many games of cards. Interment at St. Kilian’s Cemetery. Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home.
