Obituary for Robert Floyd Haynie
Robert “Bob” Floyd Haynie, 99, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, February 16, 2017. Born May 13, 1917, in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Andrew and Myrtis Jones Haynie.
A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Haynie attended Georgia Tech. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and retired furniture salesman in Atlanta, GA. He was also a former secretary and member of Conyers Kiwanis Club for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife of over 73 years, Rubye Day Haynie; son, Robert F. Haynie Jr. (Karen) of Campobello, SC; three grandchildren, Brian David Haynie, Melanie Melissa Carithers, and Kristen Leigh Miller (James); six great-grandchildren, Ashley and Kimberly Haynie, Blaine and Brianne Johnson, and Landon and Grayson Miller; and his cat, Morris.
Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David B. Howell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
