Uvalda - Mr. Ronnie T. Brantley, age 72, of Uvalda, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, after a brief illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Uvalda, was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, and previously worked with Oxford Industries in Vidalia. He loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed riding his golf cart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie and Alma Simpson Brantley; four brothers, Frank, Billy, Jack, and Leon Brantley.

Mr. Brantley is survived by three children, Gail Glisson and husband Jerry of Uvalda, Rhonda Brantley of the Center Community, and Tony Brantley and wife Michelle of Uvalda; two sisters, Peggy Martin and husband Gary of Uvalda, and Louise Boatright and husband Larry of Alma; one brother, Jimmy Brantley and wife Dorothy of Uvalda; six grandchildren, Michael Glisson, Brandon Green, Stephanie Khabirov, Wendy Waters, Tori Brantley, and Tressa Brantley; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Gary Martin and Roy Mimbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
