Joseph R. Higdon, age 88, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 15, 2017) at his residence.
He was born on August 12, 1928, in Grayson County, KY, son of the late Charles and Lenora Lush Higdon. He was an electrician and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and of the IBEW Local 369. He is survived by his wife, a son, two granddaughters, three sisters. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Ray Higdon; two sisters, Helen Grant and Mildred Grant; two brothers, William C. and James Floyd Higdon. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, (February 20, 2017) at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Peonia. Father Babu will be officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, KY. Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. CST to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Monday until 9:45 a.m.
