Born in Norwalk on April 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Irving R. Dikeman and Anne Brown Dikeman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, enlisting in 1946 and taking part in the occupation of Japan until 1949. He worked for Sears Roebuck in Norwalk, Stamford and White Plains for many years. He retired from Vallerie Transportation in 1993.
He was a member of the Norwalk Taxpayers Association and Citizens for Peace.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by a sister, Marjorie Chamberlain of Yuma, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.
