She was born on Sept. 28, 1915 in Manistee, daughter of the late Joseph and Antionette (Kruse) Adamski. Besides being a homemaker and raising her family, Clara worked part time for many years at the Moonlite Motel. She enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle and loved cooking and flower gardening. Clara was known for her great sense of humor and her pleasant personality wherever she went.
She married Walter K. Nelson on Nov. 29, 1933 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, and they were married for almost 66 years, before his death on, Oct. 19, 1999. She was a communicant of Guardian Angels Catholic Church of Manistee.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: W. Kenneth Nelson Jr. of New Carrolton, Maryland and Jim and Cathy Nelson of Manistee, four grandchildren: Todd Nelson, Tyler Nelson (Dorothy Livingstone) and their son Ian Zachary Nelson, Tamara Nelson and Kyle Nelson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by an infant daughter, Arlene Joan Nelson, her daughter in-law, Pauline “Polly” Nelson, four sisters: Lilly Frend, Helen Hayes, Selma Piotrowski and Rose Lund and by six brothers: Ted, Stanley, Leo, Michael and Edward Adamski and John Adams.
Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend John McCracken celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery also in Manistee
