Agnes Hawkes Coleman Clay, 88, of Blackstone, VA, passed away peacefully at her home, on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She is the widow of John Wallace Coleman and Elmer T. Clay. Agnes was also preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Dews and Leslie C. Hawkes, brother, Richard Hamner Hawkes and her sister, Maurine H. Ryder. She is survived by her daughter, Mollie Coleman Sellers and husband, Charles F. "Chuck" Sellers of Harrisonburg, VA; a special neighbor and friend, Linda Chiles of Blackstone, many close relatives, friends, and devoted caregivers. Agnes loved helping others and always stepped up when needed. During her life, Agnes took on many jobs to love and support her family on the farm, at Bellefonte Grange, with her church and within her community. She enjoyed working in the yard and loved her companion dogs.
