MY BIG SISTER

From the moment I was born I had a Big Sister.
You messed with me, my Big Sister would punch you right in the kisser!
You were part of my life for almost 60 years,
My Big Sister who protected me from all my fears.

My Big Sister would hide from me, way up in the trees.
I would beg her, “Beth, please come down. Please, please, please.”
One day I got brave and found myself way up there
But getting down was a real booger bear!

Me and my Big Sister had two dogs named Butter Ball and Laddie.
Loved to chase them squirrels, just drove them batty.
One day our dad had enough,
Shot them vermin so the dogs could catchup.
Them two dogs were so happy and proud
Until they saw the tears in my Big Sister’s eyes.
They dropped them squirrels, and never chased um again.
I remember that day, I was maybe four
But remember is well, will remember to my end.

Over the years, our lives became different and so many miles apart.
But will cherish our memories…
Memories of us deep in my heart.

Love always,

Your little brother, Micheal Adkins
