After marriage to Jerusha Smith in 1757 moved from Northfield to Warwick, MA. They parented 10 children.
On September 5, 1774 a company of 50 Minute men was raised by the town of Warwick: Samuel Williams, Capt, James Bell and Lt. Amzi Doolittle, Ensign. Amzi was a Lt during the Revolutionary War in the VT Militia.
In 1777 he moved to Townsend, VT and gave sons Amzi, Origin and Roswell each a tract of VT forestland. He divorced Jerusha and married 2nd Hannah Miller Barber, 9 Oct 1787, in Townshend, VT.
In 1824 he moved to Winchester, NH with sons Amzi and Origin.
