Mr. Worth (Skip) Garland Hutchens, Jr., 69, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Kindred Hospital. He was born on September 7, 1947 in Davidson County, NC to Worth Garland Hutchens, Sr. and Elizabeth Caroline Byerly Hutchens. He was a US Army veteran and attended Bethany United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and David Hutchens; and sisters, Vicki Batten, Ann Hutchens, and Rebecca Hutchens.
Surviving are his sons, Wesley Hutchens and wife Autumn of Winston-Salem and Nick Hutchens and wife Jennifer of Atlanta, GA; brothers, John Hutchens and wife Rosalie of Greenville and Bruce Hutchens and wife Daisy of Mt. Olive; sisters, Mary Hinson and husband Butch of Trinity and Susan Lear and husband Bill of St. Cloud, FL; and three grandchildren, Haley Hutchens, Mason Hutchens, and Aurora Hutchens.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hutchens will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
