Lela Adams McDill, 79, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at her residence.

Visitation is 5-8 pm Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Dr. Chad Hunsburger will officiate.

Mrs. McDill was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church and also when Park Place was Sunshine Baptist Church. She was a very loving and caring person and especially enjoyed taking care of her family and friends.

Mrs. McDill was known as a “Prayer Warrior” and also spent much of her time caring for and visiting those who were in the nursing homes. She also loved the outdoors, working in her flower beds and garden, but her greatest accomplishment was the special bond she developed with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McDill was preceded in death by her husband, John McDill in 2016 and is survived by her daughter, Redonna Derrington (Chip) of Pearl; sons, Randy McDill (Kathy) of Pearl and Mark McDill (Kathy) of Pearl; grandchildren, Lauren Smith (Billy), Erin Williams (Zach), Emily McDill, Hunter McDill, Laura Hunt (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Liam Smith, Saylor Hunt, Gage Hunt, Lela Kate Hunt and Baby Hunt; sister, Lora Gray (Ruble) of Georgia; brothers, Sonny Adams of Alabama, Jimmy Adams (Debra) of Ackerman and James Adams (Sylvia) of Ackerman.
