He was survived by his son, James Brent (and Anne) Tackett of Eubank, Kentucky; his daughters, Anna Lee (and Gene) Dungan of Eubank, Kentucky, Jean Tackett of Eubank, Kentucky, and June (and Jim) Jones of Science Hill, Kentucky; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren; and his nephew, whom he reared, Orbra Greer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maryland Tackett, Sr. and Rhoda (Caudill) Tackett; his wife, Goldie Geneva (Ruckel) Tackett; his brothers, Silas Tackett, Milton Tackett, Perry Tackett, Frank Tackett, and Dewey Tackett; and his sisters, Annie Greer, Daisy Little, and Jane Osborne.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 4, 2004 at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Brother Jeff Griffin and Brother Joe Altman officiating.
