Isaac's last know location with family members was in Loudoun County, Virginia in the 1820 US Census. Presuming this is why his death date has been often reported as 1820. He was alone and no children were listed in that census. An Isaac Kent is also alone and 10 years older in the 1830 Middleburg, Loudoun County, Virginia Census which is only about 15 miles from Leesburg. It is speculative, but this well could be this Isaac Kent.

His wife Matilda Marks Kent had died in January 23, 1811. At that time the children ranged from 1 month to 9 years and may have been taken in by either Matilda's brother (the George Mark's family) or Isaac Kent's brother (Ashford Kent's family) both of whom were on the same census page #16 in the 1820 census. Of course, it is possible Isaac tried to raise the children himself but it seems unlikely without some family help. There is no conclusive documentation found to date as to Isaac's death or burial location. Some think Isaac Kent died in Coshocton County, Ohio, and cite a will as the source but the death date is 1880, and his wife is Jane. Those factors rule this out for me. Some cite an Isaac Kent b. abtout 1786 (VA) settling in Morgan County, Indiana about 1826. There is also some interesting marriage documentation tying Kents of Parke County, Indiana to the Pollard family of Morgan County, Indiana in the 1850 time frame. The Pollards would have lived in the time frame 1830-1850 and the same location of this Isaac Kent - but again nothing is conclusive .

The children of Isaac and Matilda are Thomas, Sarah, John, Smith, and Milly.

The attached "Elisha Smith and Elizabeth (Lashbrook) Mark's Family Bible shows these names as Matilda Marks and Isaac Kent's children. There is no mention of Isaac as the father in the Bible although there is a marriage record of Isaac Kent and Matilda Marks on November 12, 1801, in Fredricks County, Maryland attached above.

It does seem odd that there is no mention of the father Isaac Kent in the Mark's Bible. One can only wonder the reason why he would not be mentioned following the death of Matilda only one month after the birth of their last child Matilda - December 29, 1810.
