Detroit Free Press (Detroit Michigan) June 24, 1894, Sun, page 4,
Column on things happening in Washington, DC which is a little confusing since it is a newspaper from Michigan, but she did have ties to and was born in Detroit Michigan. Note the article states Mt Olive, but should be Mt Olivet. A number of Hobans are buried there.

Mrs Elise Piquette- Hoban, wife of James Hoban of this city, died suddenly at her residence here at 10 o'clock this forenoon. She as in her usual health up to this morning at 7 o'clock, and had completed arrangements to leave here next Friday for Coburg, Canada, where she was to spend the summer with friends from Detroit. At 7 o'clock she complained of severe pains in the head and later a physician was called. He left a prescription and said the attack was not serious, but that he would return later. Shortly after his departure, she became rapidly worse, and died three hours later. Mrs Hoban's maiden name was Piquette and she was born in Detroit about forty-seven years ago. She leaves three children, a son and daughter by her first husband, the late Ormsby Mitchell, and one daughter by the present marriage. The funeral will take place Monday morning from St Matthew's church; Interment at Mt Olive cemetery. Mrs Hoban was a niece of Alexander Campau, of Detroit, and had a large circle of friends in Detroit, who will be greatly shocked by her sudden death.

Mrs James Hoban gave a cotillion last night for Miss Louise Mitchel, which was one of the prettiest events of the winter. Mrs Hoban received in an elegant gown of yellow brocade and Miss Mitchel was in white tulle. Every figure was a favor one, and some of the prettiest favors were tambourines, bans bon bonnieres, valentines, tiny chairs filled with flowers, bronze ornaments & etc.
