Lola Thaxton, age 83, of Sissonville, passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston.

Lola was the loving wife of the late Owen Thaxton. She was also preceded in death by her grandsons, Matt Fields and Christian Lester.

Lola is survived by her children, Robert Walker, (Rena), of Dunbar, Kathy Hanshaw, (Rick), Darris Thaxton, (Connie), Vernon Thaxton, Lisa Kinder, (Steve), Karen Thaxton, Pat Thaxton, (Jody), Tammy Mabe, (Timmy), Robbie Thaxton, (Michelle), all of Sissonville; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nine great- great-grandchildren, and two great - great - great -grandchildren; sisters, Irene Saunders of VA and Arbutus Jones of Sissonville.

A celebration of Lola's life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 30, at Harding Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Travis Asbury officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
