Hazel Benge Creel, a former custodian with the New Orleans School Board, died of cancer Wednesday at her home. She was 86. Ms. Creel was born in Jacksonville, Texas, and lived in Lacombe for the past 30 years. Survivors include a brother, Albert H. Benge; and five sisters, Ruby Frederic, Ruth Wiley, Lois Keller, Marguerite Byers and Ceuba Benge. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
