Fred Wells, 75, a lifetime resident of the Crestline community, died at 9:30 Saturday morning in the Columbus hospital where he had been a patient since June 23.

Born March 7, 1890, on a farm near Crestline, Mr. Wells was the son of S. C. and S. A. Nicholes Wells. He and Daisy May Cook were married May 1, 1910, in Columbus. They made their home on a farm near Crestline until 1941 when they moved into Crestline and Mr. Wells entered the trucking business until his retirement in 1960.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Daisy Wells; two daughters, Mrs. George Mosier and Mrs. Don Sears, both of Crestline; four sons, Fernie Wells, Baxter Springs route one; Lee Wells, Bethany, Okla., JR Wells and Bill Wells, both of Crestline; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning in the Jordan funeral home. The Rev. Dow Booe officiated. Mrs. Tom Millner was soloist and Mrs. John Fowler organist. Casket bearers were Francis Dixon, Calvin Fee, Cedar Starchman, Ray Bradshaw, Oscar Morrison (Anna Belle Morrison Wells' Father) and John Brown.

Interment was in Messer cemetery.
