Mrs. Love Shewmaker, 79, of Glenwood died at 2 a.m. today at the home of a son, William Shewmaker, in New Salem where she had been staying for several weeks. She had been in failing health for two years. A resident of Glenwood for 15 years, Mrs. Shewmaker had spent most of her life in the Little Flat Rock community. She was born in Harrodsburg, Ky., on May 6, 1883, the daughter of Granville and Elizabeth Trisler Preston, and was married, December 14, 1909, to William Thomas Shewmaker, who died January 27, 1951. Mrs. Shewmaker was a member of the Little Flat Rock Christian Church. Survivors include four sons, William of New Salem, Delbert of Glenwood, James, near Alexandria and Cecil of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Maynard Ball of Southport and Mrs. Sam Hazelbaker near Anderson; a brother, William Preston of Glenwood, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One son, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. The Revs. Richard T. Merriman and Josef Palat will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moster and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday, with burial in East Hill Cemetery.
