Herminia was survived by her children: Valdéz Abeyta y Valdéz of Santa Fe, Henry A. Abeyta of Albuquerque and Elizabeth Price (husband Craig) of Jensen Beach, Florida; six grandchildren; brother Eliseo Valdéz Jr. (wife Josephine) of San Pedro; and many other relatives and friends.
Herminia was the valedictorian of her Española High School graduating class and graduated from El Rito Normal School. She volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She volunteered more than 5,000 hours as a "Pink Lady" with the Española Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Santa Cruz Carmelitas.
Visitation and Rosary were at Block-Salazar Mortuary. Funeral Mass was at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
