Family Heritage: The family wishes to share some history of the Arbuckle family of which they are most proud
and refers to Larry's great great great great grandfather... "Captain James Arbuckle was called an "Early Settler" in Indiana. James settled and bought land in Clark County Indiana, 1808; his military commission now of Dr. Phillips Work, Denver Colorado appointing him Captain. In the First Battalion of the first Regiment of Jefferson County Indiana, was dated February 4 1811 and signed at Vincennes by William Henry Harrison. Governor of Indiana Territory. A land patent was issued to James Arbuckle June 16 1812 and was signed by James Madison. That part of Clark County Indiana became Jefferson County Indiana in 1810. James Arbuckle finished building his Brick Home and Mill in October 15 1815 Jefferson County Indiana". taken from Quarterly Magazine of History September 1916. Vol 12-No.3 page 228.
