Miss Jewell Robinson, daughter of Rev. O B and Mrs. P A Robinson, was born April 10th, 1900. She fell asleep in Jesus December 21, 1918. She professed faith in Christ at the Odema Baptist Church. and it can be truthfully said of her that she lived a faithful and consistent life until death came and caller her home.
Jesus said, "By their fruits ye shall know them" and it is admitted by those who knew her that she was one of the leading spirits in the weekly prayer meetings in the neighborhood where she lived. She was loved by all who knew her, if she had an enemy the writer did not know it. It is believed those who were associated with her the last few weeks of her stay here on earth that she gave her life trying to save or comfort others, for she went and labored almost day and night for three weeks nursing and caring for the sick. Finally she was seized with a severe high fever and in spite of all that the doctors and a host of kind friends could do, her sufferings were such that on the third day of her illness her spirit took its flight to God who gave it and the precious remains were laid to rest in the Odema Cemetery, December 22, 1918. The funeral was conducted by the writer. Weep not, dear parents and loved ones. In as much as it is said in God's word that we should not weep as those that [have] no hope.
She has gone from us, but only for a while; for we, one by one, day by day, are going to live with her in our home on high.

She is not dead but only asleep. The death angel visited the home of Rev. O B and Mrs. P A Robinson, December 21, 1918, and claimed their sweet and charming young daughter who was only 18 years 7 months and 11 days old. Miss Jewell Robinson was born April 10, 1900, and fell asleep in Jesus December 21, 1918.
She professed faith in Christ at the age of 12 years and was baptized by Rev. J F Smith into the fellowship of the Odema Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the most faithful and devoted young members of her church. She was recognized as a leader in the neighborhood prayer meetings.
Where she lived she was kind and loving and was loved by all the better class of people that knew her, in fact it is believed that she gave her life trying to serve and doing good to others, for she went almost day and night for three weeks waiting on and caring for the sick and suffering, finally she was seized with a severe ague and high fever and in spite of all that the kind Doctors and loving Father and Mother and many loved ones and kind friends could do, after three days of great suffering, her spirit took its flight home to God who gave it, there to bask and bathe in the sunlight of God's presence with the holy angels and the redeemed of the Lord, who have come up through great tribulations and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. Glory to God in the highest, what a glorious consolation it is to the bereaved that Jesus has said, "Write, blessed are the dead that die in the Lord henceforth, yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them."
The funeral was conducted by the writer, December 23, 1918 and the remains were laid to rest in the Odema Cemetery.
