Born Nov. 26, 1934, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late James and Elda (Spigelmyer) Mahoney.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Darl Burdge, who passed away on Feb. 24, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul Burdge; a stillborn son, James Burdge; and two siblings, James Mahoney and Shirley Mahoney.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Donald Burdge (MK-34), Susan Burdge, Ronald and wife, Anita Burdge, Sharon Kline and husband, Ken Fultz, all of Lewistown, Cristy Shaffer and husband, Scott, of Harrisburg, David and wife, Lucinda Burdge, of Milroy, Timothy Burdge and Jacqueline Burdge, both from Lewistown; 14 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy loved crocheting, shopping, cooking, taking walks, going on scenic drives and spending time with family and friends. She was always a very kind, generous and hard working person and will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. John Walters officiating.
Interment will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
