John left England in 1854 with his parents, Thomas and Jane (Christon) Fisher. After a six week voyage they landed at New Orleans on May 29 and arrived Salt Lake City on October 28, 1854 with the Robert L.Campbell Company. In 1860 he became a Pony Express rider on the route between Salt Lake City and Robert's Creek. After the Pony Express quit running John became a stage driver for the 250 mile stretch between Salt Lake City and Shell Creek, Nevada. He married Josephine Lyon August 15, 1863, and they resided in Bountiful, Utah Territory. He married Harriet Knighton April 11, 1878. John Fisher was a Mayor of Bountiful, Justice of the Peace,Probate Judge and a member of the Utah Territorial Legislature.
