Edward Leamont Faulkingham, 67, died August 16, 1994 at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with a long illness. Born Sept 11, 1926 at Beals, he was the son of John and Geneva (Beal) Faulkingham. He was a lifelong member of the RLDS Church, in service as an Elder for many years. He ministered to many through his great, original musical talent and visiting with many, sharing many of his personal triumphs. He coached the Beals Jr. high Basketball team, bringing them to their very first tournament. He taught school at Alley's Bay for a short period of time. In the early 60's, he was employed by Elmer B. Eaton & Son and was a self-employed fisherman for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Faye (Barbour) Faulkingham; their three children, Edwin and his wife, Wendy; Dave and his wife Debra; Lynn and her husband Timothy Shepard, all from the island; his cherished grandchildren, Deena, Elizabeth, Kristy, Nola, Travis, Frankie and Gayle; sisters, Bernice Griffin of Deer Isle, Cindy Alley of Missouri, pearl Gray of Brewer, Edith Woodward of Beals; brothers, Leslie and Leeman Faulkingham, both of Beals, Albert Faulkingham of Jonesboro, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Geneva Faulkingham; brothers, J. Franklin and Richard Faulkingham; sisters, Adelaide Crowley and Lovilla Alley. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main Street, Stonington, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 1994 with Elder A. Dowe Eaton, Elder Larry Varisco, Elder William Wilson and Seventy Clifford Gray officiating. Interment will be at Mount Rest Cemetery, Stonington. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Sargentville Restoration Branch, care of Verna Eaton, Box 70, Sunset, ME 04683.
