"Melvin Kelly lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, November 5, 2013. He was born to Roy and Alta Kelly in Central Point, Ore. and had two brothers, Marshall (deceased) and Shirley, who resides in Bellgrade, Mont.

For over 50 years he was a well known barber in Medford, Ore. The last shop he owned and operated was "Kelly's Den" on Jackson St. in Medford. One of Kelly's great loves was his motorcycle. He spent most of his life riding trails and roads in the mountains and Eastern Oregon desert. He also loved camping, hiking and outdoor activities. He was active during his earlier years in motorcross and later became a member of the Motorcycle Rider's Association. He spent many years clearing trails with a friend for other riders to enjoy in and around the Union Creek area.

He attended Central Point schools and later became a lifetime member of the Central Point Pointers Alumni group and served as their historian for many years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tiny, in 2003. He is survived by his current wife, two sons); three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed but we celebrate his laughter and love of friends and family. The family wishes to extend their deepest thank you and appreciation to Rogue Valley Hospice for their constant and loving care.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday November 16, 2013, at Table Rock Fellowship, 3610 N. Pacific Hwy., Medford, in the Oasis Fellowship Hall. No flowers please. Those who wish may contribute to Rogue Valley Hospice Services, 2950 Doctors Park Dr., Medford, OR."
