Anna Rita Benham, 65, Brandenburg, died December 13, 2000, at her residence.

She was born March 31, 1935, in Meade County, the daughter of the late Paul Warren Allen and Mary Eleanor Arnold.

She was a retired waitress and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Ms Benham is survived by 3 children, Penny Downs and Neal Benham, both of Brandenburg, and Alan Benham, Carmi, IL; 7 sisters, Marie Hardesty, Payneville, Rena Lou Humphrey, Battletown, Loretta Jupin, Irene Hockman, Ruth Humphrey, Bonnie Jean Wardrip, and Patsy Smith, all of Brandenburg; 3 grandchildren, Samantha Benham, Leslie McNally, and Lance Downs.

Funeral services were held December 17 from the chapel of Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Padgett Jr. officiating. Burial was in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Wood, Joe Marik, Bobby Barker, Roger Allen, Gary Allen, and Greg Allen.
