Mrs. Sarah E. King, of Fremont, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lulu Alderman, north of town on Monday evening, April 5, 1920. She was born in Indiana in 1834, being past 86 years of age at the time of her death. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1848, making the trip in a wagon drawn by an ox team. She was married to Wm. King in 1860, and he died in 1905. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Belle Yeoman, Mrs. Florence Roquet, and Mrs. Lulu Alderman, of Fremont, and Mrs. Kate Phillips, of Fairfield, seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is the last of the eight children of John and Isabella Fenton Mc Fall. She was converted when thirty years of age and united with the Methodist church at Concert, northwest of Fremont. She was a splendid woman, had seen the hardships of pioneer life, made sacrifices when sacrifices were needed, was a loving wife and mother, and in her passing the community loses one of its oldest and most highly respected citizens.

The funeral was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Alderman yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, the services being in charge of Rev. J.W. Carson, pastor of the Fremont M.E. church, and interment was made in the Cedar Township cemetery beside her husband.
