Cathy Ann Banker, 61, of Marengo passed away January 8, 2017 in Elgin.
She was born August 26, 1955 in Elmhurst to Charles and Edna (Judd) Morgan. On June 1, 1974 she married Bill Banker at St. Mary's Church in Elgin.
Cathy cherished the time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. To say she enjoyed cooking is an understatement. Cathy had a talent for cooking that was undeniable. She was also a very talented quilter. She worked for a time at Pieceful Gathering in Cary and was a member of a couple quilting groups including Quilted Hearts and Friendship Star. Cathy loved to spend time outdoors whether it was gardening or time spent at the cabin with her husband and family. She also gave to her community by volunteering at M.O.R.E. and was active in her church, Sacred Heart in Marengo.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughters, Jennifer Banker Ahrens and Jessica (Roger) Engwall; her grandchildren, Hanna and Jack Ahrens, and William and Benjamin Engwall; and her siblings, Bill Morgan, Dave Morgan, Carol Lamb, Judy Yates, Linda Morgan, and Charles Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Gary Morgan, Dennis Morgan, and Janet Morgan.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, January 12 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9:30am until prayers are said at 10:00am on Friday, January 13 at the funeral home. There will be a procession when the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
