Virgil A. Deason, son of James M. and Eliza M. Deason was born April 23, 1901 at Licking, Mo. He departed this life at the Waynesville, Mo., hospital April 26, 1967, making his age 66 years and 3 days.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers and three sisters, Willie and Jeff Deason, Mrs. Lizzie Long, Mrs. Ella Burnett, and Mrs. Vida Stone.

He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted nephew of the home, Willie Deason; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Barnes Licking and Mrs. Lola Thompson, Baxter Springs, Kansas; three brothers-in-law, Edd Barnes and Craven Burnett, Licking, Walter Thompson, Baxter Springs, Kansas, Edward Deason, Bartlesville Oklahoma, who was raised by the Deason family; a host of nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved by all of them.

He united with the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church near Flat, Mo. He was baptized in April, 1959. He loved his church and was a faithful member.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He spent his entire life except for a few months in California, at the farm home where he was born. He was a highly respected friend and neighbor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Services for Mr. Deason were held Saturday afternoon at Smith and Ferguson Chapel with Elder Elmer Calton officiating. Pallbearers were: Coy, Dean, Roy and James Stone, Gean Burnett and Loren Barnes. Interment in Ray Cemetery with Smith-Ferguson Funeral Directors in charge.
