He was united in marriage to Mahala Elizabeth Hayes, March 7, 1921 and to this union one son William Arthur was born.
He was of a family of eight children. His mother, father and a brother Willie and his sister Lizzie Long preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and son and one brother Virgil Deason of the home. Four sisters, Mrs. Vida Stone, Mrs. Ella Burnett and Mrs. Minnie Barnes all of Licking and Mrs. Lola Thompson of Baxter Springs, Kansas. Edward Deason of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, was like a brother as he was raised by the Deason family. Several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
Mr. Deason was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Jeff, or Uncle Jeff as he was called by many was a fine man and a wonderful neighbor. He believed in treating everybody right. The latch string was always out at his home, and no one was ever turned away. He always tried to live up to the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."
Funeral services were held at the funeral home January 22, 1958. Services were conducted by Brother Ben Kimbrough of Peace Valley, Missouri. Interment was in the Ray Cemetery under direction of Smith and Ferguson.
