Ila Duke George, age 93, of Chubbuck, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 6, 2016, at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley in Boise, Idaho with her son Parley at her side.

She was born March 7, 1923 at the family ranch east of Bennington, Idaho to parents John Turner Duke and Olive L. Burbank. She grew up on the ranch with her sisters Sarah and LaVon, and her brothers Dan, Harry and Lawrence. Her father passed away when she was three.

On July 25, 1940, she married the love of her life, Jack George, in Bennington, Idaho. On July 22, 1941 they were sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple.

She was a master in quilting, crocheting, sewing, and cake decorating. She created many wedding and special occasion cakes for family and friends. Ila was a loving wife, an outstanding mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, a good friend and great woman. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Ila is survived by her two sons Larry J. (Fay) George of Columbia Falls, MT and Parley G. George (Jennifer) of Boise, ID; five grandchildren Jackie (Jim) Turner, Russell (Heidi) George, Chris (Lori) George; Robert (Tonya) George, and Laramie George; five great-grandchildren Shane, Larry, Michael, David, Michael K.; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jack Glay George; two sisters Sarah Walton and LaVon Scholes and three brothers Dan, Harry and Lawrence Hunter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 13, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, ID 83202

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., and one hour prior to services on Friday.
