S. A. Newcomb died in Cisco. His last remains were brought to Albany and interred in the Albany Cemetery. Funeral services were held at the Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church, being a very bad day, pouring down rain, very few folks were at the funeral. The deceased was a native son of Shackelford County, was born near the town of Fort Griffin, August 21, 1865, and grew to manhood in that county.
Gus, as we all knew him was one of nature's nobleman a Christian gentleman, four-square and always shot straight in dealing with his fellow man. He was a devoted husband, and a loving father. He was well known in this county, and his friends were
_________Several years ago he moved his family to Cisco, which place was his home at the time of his death. He leaves a loving wife and three daughters.
