Funeral service for Mrs. Fern Newcomb Line, 54, former Albany woman, was held at the Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church where she forst joined the church as a child. Mrs. Line died at her home at Ysleta, of a heart attack.

Descendants of a pioneer family of the area, Mrs. Line was the daughter of Mrs. Minnie Newcomb of Houston, and the late Gus Newcomb of Throckmorton and Shackelford counties. The family was among the earliest settlers of West Texas and prominent in the development of the ranching industry in this county. She was born in Throckmorton County and lived there and in Shackelford county until she reached young womanhood.

She was married to Walter Line of Cisco and the couple made their home at various points in South Texas before moving to El Paso County, where she had made her home for several years.
