Age 77, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration Medical Center on Sept. 19, 2007 after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Franny was a lifelong resident of Wilmington and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1993 from New Castle County after 38 years, working in the Sheriff's Office and the Treasury Division. He loved music and was co-author of the former Corpus Christi High School song. He also enjoyed the seashore and was an avid writer. His written insights into life will forever keep his memory alive.
Franny is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Murray Behringer; his son, Michael; and his sister, Ellen DiSabatino, all from Wilmington.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, 907 New Road, Elsmere on Wednesday, September 26th at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
