The funeral service for retired restaurant and bar owner L.T. Baker of Springville was planned at 3 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

James Groves was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Bevil Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers were Billy Page, Darnell Kirkland, Harry Baker Jr., Jeff and Bo Baker, Frank Valentine, Tim Swor and David Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were William and Cody Archie, Leroy Johnson and Gene "Froggy" Wade.

Visitation was Sunday and today.

Baker, 84, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Plumley Rehabilitation Center.

Born March 31, 1927, in Dresden, he was a son of the late R.L. and Ora Lee Green Baker.

His wife, Alice Marie Johnson Baker, died March 2, 2004. They were married on Oct. 16, 1944.

Baker was retired owner and operator of various restaurants and bars, including Rainbow Inn, the 641 Club and the Blue Marlin. He also operated Indian Village Flea Market in Henry for a short time. A World War II veteran, he was a former member of AMVETS, VFW and American Legion.

He leaves three daughters: Doris Reid of McKenzie, Gloria Kirkland of Springville and Phyllis Koebel and friend Jimmy Quillin of Big Sandy; one son: Harry (Paula) Baker of Springville; four sisters: Hazel (J.C.) Ussary and Frances (Hollis) Diviney, both of Troy, Margaret (Sonny) Crowell of Rives and Daisy Ervin of Union City; one brother: George (Pat) Baker of Jackson;

Eleven grandchildren: Tina Archie, Anita (Donnie) Lahew, David (Martha) Reid, April (Donald) Tolbert, Melissa (Tim) Swor, Harry (Becky) Baker Jr., Jeff (Joan) Baker, Donna (James) Ward, Misty (Jimmy) Andrews, Gina (Sean) Norman and Shawnaree (David) Brown; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Alice Valentine; four brothers: Howard Baker in infancy and Russell, Tommy and Virgil Baker; and two great-grandchildren.
