The funeral was held in the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery.
Oliver Iberson Mitchell was born July 22, 1881, in the Deep Creek Community north of Moran. He was the son of Israel and Treaby Mitchell, pioneers of the community, who came to Shackelford County from Louisiana.
Mr. Mitchell was reared there, and attended the Moran school as a boy. He farmed for many years, and after coming to Albany in 1926 was a rock mason.
He was married Nov. 5, 1902, to Georgie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson of the Moran community.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
