Peter Boncimino, 84, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin.

He was born in Brooklyn, raised in Villabate, Sicily, and had returned to Brooklyn as a young man. Along with his wife, Antoinette, they moved to the Willowbrook section of Staten Island and then to the New Springville section of Staten Island, before settling to Manahawkin in 2000.

Peter retired as a Carpenter for the New York City District Council of Carpenters, Local 296, in 1991. In Peter’s spare time he was always tinkering with his hands and spending time in his garden. He enjoyed boats and fishing and trips to Atlantic City. Peter was an avid Met’s fan and loved his faithful canine companions.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Antoinette Boncimino; four children, Roseann Luongo and her husband, Richard of Manahawkin, Stephen Boncimino and his wife, Terri of Howell, Giralomo “Jerry” Boncimino of Marlboro, Nancy Adams and her husband, Robert of Staten Island; six grandchildren, Richard Luongo, Jr., Nicholas Luongo, Troy Luongo, Alexandra Boncimino, Stephen Boncimino, Jr., Christopher Boncimino; a sister, Maria Giannone of Long Island; and many loving nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his brother, Gasper Boncimino.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2017. Entombment will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Township.
