Married January 21,1854 in Terrebonne Parish in civil ceremony to Josephine Price. They married again October 31,1872 in the Sacred Heart Church,Montegut, La. (Mont.V.2.P.48)

Family Story: Henry was a Brickmason and sometime after marriage to Josephine, he went to British Honduras (current day Belize) & worked building roads. They received their mail at Houma, La ; Daughter, Caledonia "Callie" was named after the town in which they lived, while there in Central America.

Henry died from a yellow fever epidemic. The story my mother related is that great-grandmother Josephine had to bury him, along with another of her children, on the island off the Louisiana coast - related from Dorothy Thomas.

Confirmation of Henry and family being in British Honduras after the Civil War can be found in Donald C.Simmons Jr's book "Confederate Settlements in British Honduras". They are listed on the ships manifest returning to Louisiana from there. Also we were able to make connections to Josephine's Brother (Joseph Wallace Price) family living in New York USA. Their ancestor also served in the Confederacy with Henry and once the war was over he moved to Central America (British Honduras) and built a plantation there. He married his second wife there and had children who were sent to Louisiana for their education. Family apparently traveled back and forth. As a trip aboard ship only took 2 days.
