Edith M. Wilson, 84, of Friendship Haven, died Saturday at Tompkins Memorial Health Center following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Word of Life Chapel, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Beryl Vinchattle officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge. Visitation is after 2 p.m. monday at Gunderson Funeral Home, Fort Dodge.
Survivors include daughters, LaVanne Vinchattle and Ivola Ellis, both of Fort Dodge; brother, Eugene Buttz, Breckenridge, MO; half-sister Wanda Nelson, Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Edith Buttz was born Oct 2, 1906, near Rolfe. She received her education at Rolfe. She married Leslie Catlin Wilson in 1924 in Humboldt. They farmed near Pocahontas, lived in Gilmore City for a short time, and moved to St. Peter, Minn. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1927 where she was a homemaker and was active for more than 40 years in many women's groups at Riverview Community Baptist Church. She also worked as a custodian at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, for eight years
She was a member of Word of Life Chapel and of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
