Betty Lou (Scruggs) Foster
(1944 - 2017)
CORINTH-Betty Scruggs Foster, 72, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Bluebonnet Hill Cemetery, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034. She was born February 21, 1944 to Jesse and Tassie Dell Scruggs. She married Marlow Foster on December 17, 1960. Betty was the doting mother of her two daughters Amelia Foster Hollon and Mellony Foster Ariail. The family lived in Fort Worth, Texas until 1976 when they relocated to Woodward, Oklahoma. Always a talented hair dresser and fashion icon, Betty enrolled in cosmetology school in Woodward and became a licensed cosmetologist. While caring for her elderly mother, every time Betty did her nails, she always did her mother's nails as well. Betty was the simple man's Martha Stewart. Every home she ever lived in was decorated beautifully, even if it was done so with refurbished garage sale finds. Betty was famous for her homemade candies during the holidays and they were cherished by all. Her pies were also loved far and wide, and she often made extra pies for her niece and brother-in-law to smuggle out at family gatherings. She was everyone's favorite aunt and cut every one of her 12 nieces hair at least once, and they all loved mom's junk drawer. Her grandkids used to love to go to mom's house and just lie around in their pajamas all weekend and eat cinnamon toast and watch TV. Mom and dad loved to dance, travel and play cards. Mom touched everyone who knew her and she will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Tassie Scruggs; her husband, Marlow Foster; her son, Milton Wayne Foster; her brothers, Hamp Scruggs and Gene Scruggs; and her sisters, Ernestine Collvins and Linda Bowles. Betty is survived by her sister Patricia Cameron; daughters Amelia Hollon and husband Oren, Mellony Ariail and husband Terry; her grandchildren, Mandy Wiseman and husband Kris, Amber Pauley and husband Lance, Jacob Ariail, and Sydney Ariail; and her great grandchildren, Scott Budig, Blake Wiseman, Klarissa Pauley and Allison Pauley.
