Jacqueline R. "Jackie" (Garvey) Cahill, 79, of Binghamton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center on Monday, January 2, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary (O'Gorman) Garvey, her siblings, Eileen O'Leary, John Garvey, Robert Garvey, Kevin Garvey, Shirley O'Shea, Donald Garvey and Patricia McManus; her grandchildren Timothy, Matthew and Hannah Scoville. Jackie is survived by her husband of 60 years John E. "Jack" Cahill; her children Jay, Marianne Carroll (George), Jinny Dennison (Don), Daniel (Mona), Laura Benko (Bob), and Jackie Scoville (Mark); her grandchildren Patrick and Megan Cahill, Shannon Carroll-Ogulewicz (Josh), Caitlin and Christopher Carroll, Casey and Ryan Dennison, Jake, Allana, Isabella, Jessica and Samantha Cahill, Cara and Michael Benko and Allysa Joyce (Patrick), Daniel, Luke, Emma and Michael Scoville; also a great-grandson Jack Thomas Ogulewicz. Mom graduated from St. Paul's School. She worked and retired from Broome County Motor Vehicles. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Mom was very proud of her Irish heritage. She loved and adored her family. Mom was an accomplished decorator; she went all out for the holidays especially Christmas and her favorite holiday, Halloween. Mom enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and the grandchildren sleepovers where she enjoyed spoiling them. We would like to thank the staff at Wilson Memorial Hospital for the excellent care they provided Mom. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Leroy and Oak Streets, Binghamton, Friday at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family.
