Ruth L. Whitten, 97, long-time resident of Grandview Heights, passed away on January 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 47 years, Charles K. Whitten, parents Oscar and Lola Casey Zimmer, sisters Mary Zimmer and Margaret Wolszon and brothers Robert and Richard Zimmer. She is survived by daughter, Joyce (John) Rankin; sister, Delores Prados; grandchildren, Casey (David) and Leslie (Dimitri); six great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Ruth adored her family and friends and they loved her. She was a homemaker who previously worked as a nurse aid at Grant Medical Center, as a secretary in the Undergraduate Student Government at The Ohio State University, and as a library assistant at the Upper Arlington Public Library. She was an avid traveler, who visited her sister in Brazil numerous times. She studied Portuguese and art, and immensely enjoyed music, especially, at the King Arts Center. The family will receive friends at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W.
