GLENNS FERRY —Services for Clarence L. Moore, 77, former Glenns Ferry mayor, were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Hall. Mr. Moore died Friday in a Boise hospital following a brief illness. Bishop Richard Solosabal of the LDS Church was in charge of the service. Mr. Moore was born Nov. 10, 1896, in Coleville, Utah. He attended Utah and Wyoming schools and served in the U. S. Army and Coast Guard during World War I.
He married Sarah E. Peterson on June 22, 1921, on the Owsley Bridge at Hagerman, as part of the dedication ceremonies of the bridge. In 1924 they moved to Glenns Ferry where he operated a barber shop until 1954. Then he went into dairying and worked in that business until 1961. At the time of his death he was custodian for the Idaho State Bank in Glenns Ferry. He was a two-term mayor in Glenns Ferry, from 1947 to 1958. He served as a city councilman, a member of the school board, city police Judge for one term and since 1965 was a truant officer for the city.
Surviving are his wife, Glenns Ferry; two sons, Paul Moore, Glenns Ferry, and Vern Moore, Boise; a daughter Mrs F. H. (Rebecca) Lounsbury, Glenns Ferry; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Staples, Nyssa; and Mrs. Vera Price, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
