Mrs. George McElhaney

Mrs. Janie May McElhaney, 67, of Lucasville Rt. 1, died at 7 a.m. today at her home. Mrs. McElhaney had been a resident of the Bear Creek community for 17 years. She was born on May 6, 1888, in Pike County, a daughter of David Hickman and Julia Shonkwiler Hickman. She was married to George McElhaney in Greenup Oct. 18, 1951.

Surviving are her husband; daughter, Mrs. Mary Williams, of New Boston; sister, Mrs. Myrtle Powell of Otway Rt. 1; and four half-brothers, Herbert Mossbarger, of Columbus; Orville and Everett Mossbarger, of Piketon Rt. 1; and Ollie Mossbarger, of Urbana.

Mrs. McElhaney was a member of the Bear Creek Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Funeral arrangements are pending at McKinley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Janie May McElhaney, 67, of Lucasville Rt. 1 will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bear Creek Evangelical United Brethren Church. Mrs. McElhaney died Tuesday morning at her home. Rev. John Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park.

Among Mrs. McElhaney survivors are six stepsons, Ray, of Sterling , Ohio; Leon, if[sic] Ritman Ohio; Burl, of Florida; Robert and Paul of Columbus; and David, of Hillsboro; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Artie Boldman of Rushtown Rt. 1.
