A retired food demonstration representative and church musician, she died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at her home in Baker. She was 73 and a native of Central. Visiting at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 4415 Old Weis Road, Zachary, on Sunday, May 15, from 4 p.m. until musical service at 6 p.m. Religious service to follow at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Glorious Wright. Dismissal on Monday, May 16, at 10 a.m., with interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband, Earl Robinson Sr.; grandfather, Henry L. Washington; daughter, Sonya Robinson Brown and husband Michael; sons, Earl Robinson Jr. and Donald Milton Robinson; sisters, Mary Ann Burton and husband Henry, and Debra Gordon Robertson and husband Lloyd; brothers, Isaac W. Gordon, Willie L. Gordon and wife Shirley, and David W. Gordon and wife Vera; grandchildren, Jabaric, Malik and Kosi Brown, and Shadrika Johnson; uncles, Benny L. Hayes, Samile and John Henry Hayes; aunts, Mary B. Hayes, Vesta Hayes, Mary L. Franklin; and godchildren, Karen Burton-Becnel, Dennis W. Franklin, Ursula V. Mack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Lois Gordon; brothers, Donald M. Gordon, Robert James, Ray and Earnest; and grandparents, Amanda Penn Washington, John Hayes, and Mary and William Gordon. She was a member of Moses Chapel United Methodist Church and a graduate of Chaneyville High School. She attended Southern University.
