Obituary of James Trabue Clarkson, Houston Post, Jan 28, 1953
J. T. (Trib) Clarkson, 68, widely-known South Texas businessman, died in Spohn Hospital here at 12:45 a.m., Tuesday. Mr. Clarkson had been ill for several months. A resident of Corpus Christi since 1912, he was a representative of the Cargill Office Supply Company of Houston and brother of A.E. Clarkson Secretary-Treasurer of the Houston Post. He was active in the church and Masonic affairs of Corpus Christi for many years, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Corpus Christi Lodge #189 AF & AM and the Knights Templar. Besides the brother, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis Autry of Corpus Christi, Mrs. John Rhodes of Houston, one son, William Clarkson of Corpus Christi and two sisters, Miss. Laura Clarkson and Miss. Emily Clarkson of Houston, 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held in the Cage-Mills funeral Home chapel at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday. Dr. S. Evans Brown, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating, Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
