Mr. “M.Q.” Marion Q. Dominy, Jr., age 97, of Pennington passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Lufkin. He was born September 29, 1919 in Pennington to parents, Marion Quincy Dominy, Sr. and Nolia Holmes Dominy. Mr. Dominy resided in Pennington most of his life and was a member of the Pennington Baptist Church. He served in United States Army during World War II and was a well known rancher for many years.
Mr. Dominy is survived by his son, Wayne Dominy of Pennington; daughter, Susan Bayne and husband, Bill of Huntsville; grandchildren, Leslie Gonzalez and husband, Dooley of Hillsboro, Lori Dominy of Belton, William Bayne, Jr. of Spring, Brian Bayne of Tomball, Emily Harrington and husband, Edward of Natchitoches, LA; great-grandchildren, Elisabeth Gonzalez, Nicolas Gonzalez, Katelynn Gonzalez, Madison Gonzalez, Alice Harrington and Edmund Harrington; sister, Thama Cook of Evanston, IL; numerous nieces nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Arnold Dominy; parents, Marion Quincy Dominy, Sr. and Nolia Holmes Dominy; sisters, Audrey Crowe, Elma Craven and Mary Dominy.
Funeral services for Mr. Marion Q. Dominy will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pennington Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Magee officiating. Interment to follow in the Pennington Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
