F. James "Jim" Deuel, 85, of Iowa City, formerly of Waterloo, IA passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Jim was born on February 25, 1931 on a farm outside of Delhi, IA the son of Francis and Ula (Bigelow) Deuel. He graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1951. Jim was united in marriage to Beth Treichel on March 16, 1957 at First United Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. He was an optician for over 40 years, retiring in 1991. Jim was an avid John Deere collector. He loved country music especially Johnny Cash.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth; three children; one sister; three grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; infant-daughter, Dawn Diane Deuel; siblings, Fred Deuel and Virginia Weldon.
