Numbers of friends attended the funeral services yesterday afternoon of Mrs. Edward Peyre Ashby who died at her home near the city Saturday afternoon after a long illness. The Rev. W.S. Paynor, assisted by Dr. H. Tucker Graham, conducted the services at Oullia’s Funeral Home and the body was then laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery beneath a profusion of flowers.
Mrs. Ashby is survived by her husband and three children. Virginia, Edward Peyre Jr. and Billy Ashby. Four sisters and one brother survive as follows, Miss Edna Heard of Florence, Mrs. P.J. Boatwright of Darlington, Mrs. John C. Brunson of Florence, Mrs. David G. Adams of Florence and Harry H. Heard also of Florence.

As confirmed by the Mt Hope office, Virginia is resting between her sister Edna and her mother Willie and her grave is marked only by an old empty funeral home marker.
