MRS. BESSIE BOATWRIGHT
Darlington, Oct 30 -(Special)- Mrs. Bessie H. Boatwright, member of a prominent Darlington family, died last night in Columbia. She had been in declining health for the past four months, but her death was sudden and unexpected.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the residence on Edwards Avenue in Darlington, will be conducted by the Rev. William S. Jones of the First Baptist Church and the Rev. R.C. Patoon, rector of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery here.

Mrs. Boatwright, the former Miss Bessie Heard, was born and reared in Darlington County. She was the widow of P.J. Boatwright, Darlington merchant and business man for many years.

Survivors include two sons, W.H. Boatwright of Darlington and P.J. Boatwright of Orangeburg: a daughter, Mrs. James L. Coker of Hartsville: one brother, Harry Heard: three sisters, Mrs. Alice Brunson, Miss Edna Heard and Mrs. Sadie Adams and several grandchildren.
